How does commission-a-musician work?
You provide the details for your custom track, and one of our musicians will create a piece tailored to your needs. As the intermediary, I securely hold the payment to ensure fairness for both you and the artist. Once the track is completed, the artist uploads it to the platform. A short preview is generated and shared with you for review. If you're happy with the preview, the full payment is released to the artist, and you receive the complete track. This process protects both sides — giving you confidence in the quality before committing, and giving artists peace of mind that their work is valued and compensated fairly.
Can I sell tracks without a license?
No, you cannot sell your tracks on our platform with a proper license. Please ensure you have the appropriate licenses for any tracks you wish to sell. We run a strict DMCA takedown policy to protect ourselves and you. If you are not licensed you can still take advantage of our Commission-A-Musician service
Do you accept custom track requests for different keys e.t.c?
Absolutely! You can commission our talented musicians to create custom backing tracks. Visit our 'Commission a Musician' page to get started.
How do I become an artist on your platform?
Musicians can apply to join our platform by clicking 'Join as Artist' in the navigation menu. We review applications and welcome talented artists who can contribute high-quality acoustic backing tracks.
What if I have technical issues with downloads?

Do you offer refunds?
Due to the digital nature of our products, we generally don't offer refunds after download. However, if there are technical issues with the files, we'll work with you to resolve them or provide a replacement.
What is to stop me from contacting the artist directly, and not through the site?
Nothing at all — you're free to contact the artist directly if you prefer. Our platform exists to make that unnecessary by offering real benefits: secure payment handling, reliable delivery, and dispute protection. We act as a trusted intermediary so both parties can focus on music, not logistics. Using the site supports the artists while giving you peace of mind — no chasing invoices, no risk of miscommunication, and everything documented in one place.
What is to stop artists contacting users directly?
Nothing. You're welcome to reach out to artists directly if that’s your preference. However, the value of this platform lies in what it provides: secure transactions, dependable communication, and a level of trust and accountability that benefits both sides. The small commission helps keep the platform running and supports the success of all artists here. All we ask is fairness — if you’ve used the platform to discover or engage with an artist, please respect that and complete the transaction here. Using the site's benefits while bypassing it for payment undermines the trust that makes this community work.
Why do you take a 10% commission + processing fee?
Our 10% commission plus 20p processing fee covers the cost of running and maintaining the platform — including hosting, development, customer support, and secure payment processing. This transparent pricing means artists know exactly what they'll receive. Unlike some platforms that advertise lower fees but have hidden charges, our pricing is upfront and honest. If you would like reduced commission rates, you can subscribe to our Enterprise subscription for just £20 a month (4% + 20p processing fee).
